Emily and I decided to have a Spring party, as we felt everyone needed a little pick me up - we are SO almost there, the clocks change this weekend 😊😃.We got round to inviting some people and then planned our menu, and this is what we had:Drink on arrival:Gin, elderflower cordial and soda water cocktail with raspberries and a viola flower in each. We made it up, it was nice and very fresh.Main:Lamb and apricot tagine by River Cottage, served with couscous. Lamb for Easter, but we wanted to do something different. I would say the recipe was a bit tangy - beware the quantity of spices 😉Side:Flat bread (not homemade), Hummus (homemade - Jamie Oliver recipe) Hummus turned out very well, thank you very much - although our blender is not so powerful.Pudding:Elderflower and Prosecco Jelly - Jamie Oliver. I added Viola flowers to the recipe so they looked even prettier. I also did double the quantity of everything except the fruit - more jellies, with less fruit - and there was exactly the right amount of liquid to just cover the fruit.Easter Chocolate Cupcakes by @chescalamarque. Chesca made these and decorated them (I 💕 the rabbit). Thank you so much Chesca!After dinner snacks:Mini eggs and other fun chocolate eggs.We also took a trip to Neal's Nurseries which I particularly enjoyed - it is the largest garden centre in London and is in Wandsworth, which is quite marvellous! We picked up a nice hydrangea, some daffodils and viola flowers for table and food decorations.It was a great party. We managed to get everyone fed and watered, and there were some superb outfits - top marks to Charlie who arrived in a bunny onesie. We only had one tiny fire, one guest sneakily watching the rugby under the table, and one practical joke played (Chesca, Olivia and Palomi we so know it was you 😉😉 😘). Sadly Bumble wasn't in attendance, as he would have looked swell in a big easter bunny bow 🐰🎀💙.Thank you all for coming, you were wonderful.Alice xxx
